Information

I have been creating art since 2007 as a way to compliment my other main pursuit, music. In addition to music, I felt like I need to express my self creatively in more than one medium so I decided to explore others like painting, drawing, sculpture, and even film, video, new media, and writing. i have found that creating art helps me strengthen my mind, relieve stress and anxiety, and overall, help me understand my place in society while also connecting with many different types of people fom all walks of life. It has really opened my eyes and has definitely fed my soul in many positive ways. I continue to explore and learn new ideas, techniques, and methods in order to grow as an artist (this is why I also love to travel and visit as many museums as possible. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013 and my Master of Fine Arts from Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in 2016.

Influences

I have many influences and of course, it changes daily. Overall, there have been many visual artists that I have looked at and studied over the years that have greatly influenced how I create my evolving body of work as well as how I understand the world and interpret society and my own experiences. A few notable names are: Neo Rauch, Frank Auerbach, Don Herzfeldt, Christine Sun Kim, Junji Ito, Tintoretto, Dan Gustin, Giacometti, Käthe Kollwitz, Giotto, Max Beckman, Pierro Della Francesca, and Fracis Bacon. I am also heavily influenced by various art movements like German Expressionism, High Italian Renaissance, ancient Greek and Roman statuary, Assyrian friezes, and cave paintings.
